L.B. Yes, Israa, I remember you very well; and I also remember deleting you from the database. So, you gotta stop re-subscribing to the list! So, I've removed you again :-).
I know that we have an
international audience here, and sometimes I do provide recipes and other
items for free; but this is still a business and a homeschooling forum - and
as such ideas and views will be expressed. If at any time you are
uncomfortable, there's that link at the bottom called "unsubscribe" that
will make me go away forever!
L.B. Yes, Micki, you are very right. And, as a matter of fact, I grew up without television. We listened to radio and did a lot of reading. I strongly believe that having the boob tube absent from my life was a great thing that my parents did. And I LOVE to keep it off at my house too.
But, I still believe that it's important to know what is going on around us. And to proactively attack the evils that are permeating our society. I can not in good conscience sit by and just let things happen around me without making an effort to stop them.
If all the good people shut off what's going on around them, and just let what happens, happen (and I'm not saying you're doing this) - there's going to be a point where we will lose our freedom to do good. We are still in a spiritual warfare.
And that's another reason why we all do
activities around here to take the place of television! :-) Many
blessings to you and your family!
P.S. You too can take advantage of activities to keep the kids occupied and not even thinking about the television. Summer games, crafts, etc. Get some now:
